Since 1959, Surrette Battery Company Limited has been a leading North American manufacturer of lead-acid batteries. All production continues to take place at our facility in Springhill, Nova Scotia. At the time of our inception Surrette Battery was one of twenty (20) Canadian battery manufactures - today we stand alone as the nations only independent and one (1) of four (4) remaining lead-acid battery manufacturers. Our attention to quality and our ability to adapt to the needs of our customers have assured our survival in such a competitive industry. Presently we are manufacturing batteries for railroad, marine and large solar applications. Initially our company objectives were focused on the robust marine industry of the time. Today our marine batteries are considered North America’s best and we’ve retained a master distributorship for the United States, (Rolls Battery Engineering) in Salem, MA which was created to serve the needs of this market.
